Pressure In Brighton

We could not resist taking this picture in Landcox Street, East Brighton, of a placard that is displayed in a number of front gardens.

But it was the graffiti addition that particularly attracted our attention. Click here for an enlarged version.

Brighton is one of the Liberal Party's safest seats in the Victorian Legislative Council, held by the party's deputy leader, Louise Asher, with a majority of 7.86%.

Planning questions are a major local political issue throughout Melbourne at present. "We oppose inappropriate development" is the catchphrase of a number of resident groups fighting against high-density developments.
