Hansard is the official record of proceedings in Parliament. It is a verbatim transcript of parliamentary sittings and Committee hearings.
Hansard is named after Thomas Curson Hansard, the son of the English government printer, Luke Hansard. The first reliable reports of parliamentary debates at Westminster were produced by Luke Hansard in 1803.
