Bob Hawke announced that he wouldn’t be running for Parliament – yet – on September 15, 1976.

Speaking in the Melbourne Trades Hall Council chamber, Hawke spoke of his concern at being a lame duck President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU).
