The 2000-2001 Federal Budget will be delivered by the Treasurer, Peter Costello, at 7.30pm this Tuesday night, May 9.
The budget will be Costello’s fifth since becoming Treasurer in 1996.
In an interview with Channel 9’s Sunday program today, Costello claimed the budget would be in surplus. He refused to confirm that the special Timor tax would be removed and denied that his office was responsible for leaking a story that the tax would be abolished before it is even introduced.
The budget will be available online as it is delivered. Information, links and full details will also be available at VCEpolitics.com.
