In 1955, a sixteen-year-old John Howard appeared on a popular radio quiz show compered by Jack Davey.
Demonstrating a cheeky sense of humour and a vivid imagination when he didn’t know the answer, Howard walked away with a mountain of soap, the only prize awarded to contestants at that time.
