Prime Minister John Howard and Opposition Leader Mark Latham have debated each other on national television.
It was the only debate between the two leaders during the 2004 federal election.
The debate, on Channel 9, featured a panel of journalists: Laurie Oakes, Michelle Grattan, Malcolm Farr and Jim Middleton.
