The Chief of the Defence Force, General Peter Cosgrove, has held a press conference on the Sea King crash.
A Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Sea King helicopter carrying 11 personnel crashed on April 2 as it was making its landing approach on the island of Nias, in Indonesia.
Six members of the RAN and three members of the Royal Australian Air Force died in the crash.
A Defence Board of Inquiry later found that the main cause of the accident was a failure of the helicopter’s flight control systems, coupled with poor maintenance.
