Prime Minister Tony Abbott is in Canada, following his trip to France for the D-Day commemoration.
Abbott spoke warmly of Australian-Canadian relations and gave a brief speech at the Canadian War Museum.
At a media conference, Abbott canvassed a wide range of issues, including Canadian investment in Australia. Questioned about domestic politics, he defended his paid parental leave.
At one stage during the 18-minute media conference, Abbott inadvertently said “Canadia” before correcting himself. The slip of the tongue caused much excitement on social media.
