Articles Of Impeachment Against Trump Released

Democratic Party leaders in the United States House of Representatives have released two Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump.

Both articles allege abuse of power by the president. The first alleges that Trump corruptly solicited election assistance from the government of Ukraine by demanding investigations that would smear his political rivals. The Democrats allege that Trump used $391 million in security assistance as leverage.

The second article charges that Trump threatened the constitutional rights of the House of Representatives through across-the-board defiance of subpoenas for testimony and documents.

The draft articles will now be submitted to the Judiciary Committee of the House for consideration. The committee can amend the articles and decide whether to submit them to the full House for a vote. If passed, the president will be impeached and a trial will take place in the Senate.
