Deaths Of Australian Prime Ministers

Australia has had 30 Prime Ministers, 23 of whom have died.

George Reid was the first PM to die, in 1918. The most recent deaths were John Gorton in 2002, Gough Whitlam in 2014, Malcolm Fraser in 2015, and Bob Hawke in 2019.

Currently, all 7 prime ministers (3 Labor, 4 Liberal) since December 20, 1991 are still living: Keating, Howard, Rudd, Gillard, Abbott, Turnbull and Morrison.
