Drudge Dredges Up Another Intern Scandal

February 13, 2004

A so-called scandal involving an intern threatens to derail Senator John Kerry's run for the Democratic Party nomination for President, according to the web gossip site Drudge Report.

In two reports over the past 24 hours, Matt Drudge claims an unnamed woman has fled the country. Drudge claims that General Wesley Clark, who withdrew from the race this week and endorsed Kerry, said: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue".

Drudge also says the looming crisis has encouraged Howard Dean to stay in the race. Kerry has won 12 of the 14 primary and caucus contests held so far and is widely regarded as unbeatable.
