Tony Abbott has made another gaffe about women, this time referring to housewives doing the ironing.
Abbott was visiting a dry cleaning business in Queanbeyan, just outside Canberra, to campaign against the Rudd government’s proposed emissions trading scheme.
Arguing that electricity prices will be forced up, Abbott said: “What the housewives of Australia need to understand as they do the ironing is that if they get it done commercially it’s going to go up in price.”
