This is the full list of Cabinet members and Parliamentary Secretaries in the Western Australian McGowan Labor government.

The ministers took office today at a swearing-in ceremony at Government House.

There are 17 members of the Cabinet: 12 men, 5 women.

There are 7 Parliamentary Secretaries: 4 men, 3 women

The ministers took office following the ALP’s victory in the election on March 11. The ALP won 41 seats to 18 for the Liberals and Nationals. The seat of Kalgoorlie remains in doubt, but will be won by either Liberal or National candidate. The Liberals are likely to finish with 13 seats and the Nationals with 5. [Read more…]

Colin Barnett Wins Easy Re-Election To Second Term In Western Australia

The first-term Liberal-Nationals government led by Premier Colin Barnett has been comfortably re-elected with an increased majority in today’s Western Australian state election.

The ALP appears to have lost 6 seats to the Liberals: Forrestfield, Morley, Balcatta, Joondalup, Belmong, and Perth. Pilbara has gone to the Nationals leader Brendon Grylls. The Liberals have retained all of their seats. The Labor-held seats of Albany, Collie-Preston and Kimberley are not yet decided. [Read more…]

Eric Ripper Resigns As W.A. Opposition Leader

Eric Ripper, Western Australia’s Leader of the Opposition, has announced his resignation.
