John Fitzgerald Kennedy (JFK) was the 35th President of the United States of America.
Kennedy was elected in November 1960, defeating then Vice-President Richard Nixon. He was sworn in as President on January 20, 1961.
Born on May 29, 1917, Kennedy was 43 when he was became president, thus far the youngest person ever elected president and the second-youngest president ever.
Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1963. He was 46. He was succeeded in office by his vice-president, Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ).
